Why introduce such an ugly Gollum?

Gollum of Peter Jackson is darker, more evil-looking, more believable.

On the other hand, the Gollum introduced in this game looks like crap.

So my question is, will Gollum be reworked in a future update ?

Probably can't be movie Gollum because of licensing, but they wanted to keep it familiar. I doubt they'll do much of anything, though. On to the next game, which will hopefully be better.

Game's license is for the books, not for the films. Therefore they wouldn't be allowed to use any movie templates including characters.
