Poor Gollum

Finally finished this game.
Is it a masterpiece? Of course not.
But for $30 i got a really good narrative with some very good voice performances and sound work all told better than a majority of stuff on Netflix.

I'm glad i played through it. I really liked how they explored Gollums character. I think there was so much about the story telling that was very well done and its a shame it was overshadowed by the poor game design elements of the platforming and stealth.

Gollum's longing for companionship and twisted and confused conflicts within himself left me feeling very sorry for him at times and yet he also displayed many redeeming features so that by the end of the game you really empathise with him in a way. That's not something that is easy to achieve with a character like this.

I'm curious now if i ever go back and drag myself through the films or the books if i will see him in a different light.

There are also some really nice visuals deeper into the game. Some wonderful character interactions. I particularly enjoyed the relationship between Gollum and Mel.

Anyway. Off to crack into Diablo 4 now and never visit these miserable forums again! Some people on these boards actually make Gollum look like a pretty well adjusted personality.
