Report a translation problem
I feel like most LoTR content suffers the same fate as Star Wars. you have all this expansive lore, even more so with Tolkien, to have your story set any time, any where. But, outside of a few exceptions, these companies continue to produce things within 50 years or so of the main story and adjacent to it. yeah, yeah, marketing teams and focus groups and all that, Old Republic did just fine. Shadow of series also did, although still being very closely tied to the main events. Make something new dammit.
The whole problem with that is you can't really play and decide for Smeagol. The Ring plays Smeagol. After that he mostly acts on basic instincts. There is no character development, only character regression.
