Nintendo Switch version
Hello Daedalic,

I was sad to see that Lord of the Rings Gollum was absent from yesterday's Nintendo Direct presentation. I am patiently waiting for the Switch release and looking forward to it as well.

My question is, can you give any update at all on the release date or at least confirm if the game is still on track to come to Nintendo platform? I am worried, because a month has passed since the release and there is no new info at all, plus the reviews probably did not help and you have your hands full with the additional work needed to patch the game.

Thank you and good luck polishing Gollum, hopefully on Switch as well.

Well, after the latest news, it would really help if you could share some news about the Switch version, @Penta. Was it affected by the restructualization the German website mentioned and therefore cancelled? Is it coming at all? If Gollum is only one patch away from being abandoned, it sure seems the Switch port is dead, but I would like to know. By the way, I'm not happy about your situation, I was really rooting for you to succeed and for Gollum to be a game to remember, but for all the good reasons.

I will not bother anyone with this again and this is the last time I try asking. Is the Switch version coming? Any specifics about the release date at all?

Thanks and good luck. You'll need it.

Still (supposedly) coming later this year. https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2023/07/gollum-publisher-daedalic-entertainment-shuts-down-internal-development

That said, why would you want to throw away money on a game that is so bad it wrecked the company's reputation, forced them to apologise for state of the game after ONE DAY of launch, made them cancel the next LotR game they were developing and caused them to shut down future game development entirely? Genuine question.

I wouldn't take that for granted. We've already seen in these very forums how gullible gamers will buy any old tat that is released. People fell for the hype and bought this junk even when the universally bad reviews were first appearing! Note how none of them are making a sound these days.
