You ARE aware there's actual work behind that, yeah? Servers? Etc.?
You... DO know that game developers don't have a switch they can pull that says "MAKE GAME WORK ONLINE WITH NO PROBLEMS"... right? That they'd have to take a lot, and I mean a LOT of time away from working on the game itself, you know, giving the players more bang for their buck, more things to do, more enemies to fight, better models, better mechanics, etc., just so they could add an online mode for a playerbase that primarily plays single player anyway?
Game development is never as simple as "just do" anything. It's work. Give the developer the resources to do online multiplayer, if you find it easy enough, or offer to do it for them while they continue working on the actual game part of the game, since it's something you can "just do".
"I haven't done much testing with online mutliplayer, but I won't rule it out in the future. Enough people have asked for it so it's something I will look into."
The local multiplayer is drop-in drop-out already, idk if the 2nd players inventory saves in the hosts world or not but that'd be a start. Maybe the same spot can be looted by both players but it's instanced specifically for one player at a time ( player 1 & 2 get different unique loot from looting the same spot ) .
In order to leave a zone, you need both players to confirm. Player two has access to the hosts caravan powers. Cannot upgrade through caravan menu but maybe can send supplies to the caravan. All this and doubled threat level progression due to your extra pair of hands. Friendly fire off because it's already annoying with NPC's.
