Where to find lobster?

Has anyone discovered the trick to finding lobster? I've tried deep water, shallow water, near the shore, far off shore. There's no tips in the bars for lobster...

So setting the pots farther apart seems to help. if u set them as soon as possible there is a decrease. within 200m or something. Can anyone explain the measuring tho? If any tail at all shows, is it throw away? or can a sliver of it show?

where are you guys finding the lobsters? I have tried looking around the coat line and in the deep water as well and can't find any.

Im out SW of Dennis Point in 100-150m water depth

I came to April, taking the date forward. There is no area left on the map where I have not traveled by ship. Although the sonar does not show any fish species at the top level. Although I wandered across the whole map, I could not find even 1 lobster. either we are idiots or there are things in the game that really work half or not. and no explanation is made by the developer team.

If your sonar can't work like mine all the time, save the game and either exit and enter or reload your save file. I'm tired of getting constant sonar error network error. trawling does not work either. The sonar is showing wrong on the troll screen. trawl gates do not go below 160m. trawl nets are constantly intermingled for the sea. Sometimes, you suddenly reach the sea surface and you cannot even rescue a ship.

Nice one I seems to have found them now, but I can't seem to get rid of the undersize lobsters. Any idea on how I do that it just puts them back in the pot each time

And now for everyone who doesnt read the Wiki and specially the Introduction @ Fish Species what tells you:

Fhishys swim in patterns.. either alone or in swarms/groups, they gather around other fishes for food !!

So for example:

look that there is a pattern alredy ! and i found at least 4-5 swordfishes on each spot

The same goes for lobsters and crabs and what do they eat the most ? extrements of fishies or small fishies :) if you find the first 3-4-5 and cant find them in a straight line look left and right and follow the pattern, drop the pot and mark the area and sooner or later you will see a whole pattern on the whole map !

p.s someone should rly make a guide on that im not good with that ^^

I'd like to add something for anyone reading in the future. How many lobster you have showing on your sonar range has nothing to do with the pot you dropped. The only spot that matters is what just appeared in your sonar, because that's what's under your boat. It doesn't matter if there were 4 lobster piled up 80 meters ago. You're not getting them.

As for strings of pots, if you start dropping on one lobster that showed up, and no others showed up as the line was going out... you're sol. You'll likely only have good lobster in the first 1 or 2 pots. The rest will just be small or an occasional loner.

If you're lobster trapping in an area where you're only seeing 1 lobster at a time, and not very often, don't string. You're in a single pot area. Strings are only good in areas with tons of lobsters overlapping and at least 5 showing up ever 100 meters.

Just things I've picked up along the way through hours of testing.
