Not getting price i should?
So i started a new game with custom settings (100% habitats, 70% prices). And whenever i go to sell, i get significantly less than what the finance tab or the fish market at the port says its going for. I thought it was giving me 30% less than the shown price because of my setting, but doing the math, it doesnt add up. Lobster said it was going for 9.77 a lb, i sold it for 7.42 (the in game tooltip at the market said "Very good price, lobster usually sells for 9.77", not sure how 7.42 is very good when its over a 2 dollar loss per lb but ok. But doing the math, if it was giving me 30% less than shown prices, i should have only gotten 6.84 a lb. Not sure if custom games are bugged but im thinking they might be....

Not sure if you've figured it out but fishprices are set by demand. so 9.77 would be the price if the demand was at 100% but usually they are much much lower than that. and then you also have different prices per town aswell just to make things more confusing

Did the $7.42 include a reputation bonus or a fresh bonus?

I dunno. I just check the current prices at the fish shop in the port, and when i go to sell, i get less than that.

No, its the price that it says i would get if i sold it. Then when i go to sell it, its like $2 less per lb than it said.

What is the fish quality? If the quality is not top notch you get lower price

I am having the same issue. I'm at Yarmouth and the Fish Price is $12.49/lb for Tuna, but when I attempt to sell it, I am only getting $8.74/lb for it. 100% fresh. Both the Market Fish Price and Finance Page Fish Price show $12.49/lb. I don't understand.

This is a bug. Someone has duplicated the math. I noticed this after having started this game on the standard easy setting, and finding it too easy, I started a custom game at 50% price. in the easy setting on june 1 tuna was around $20/lb, go catch tuna, go to port, sell tuna @ 20/lb. on the 50% setting, june 1, tuna is around $10/lb (makes sense, 50% of 20 is 10), go to port, sell tuna, get $4.5X /lb. hmm??? 100% fresh. so I go catch more tuna, save the game, edit the save file (yes I know, im a bad boy), change the fish price from .5 to .7, reload my save, tuna is now around $14/lb (20x.7=14 okay that tracks), go to port, sell fish, get $9.8X/ lb (14*.7 = 9.8).

So basically, this game has a setting that determines the sell price fir each port. when you change the % setting it auto adjusts in the fish price tab to match that, but then when you actually pull into that port, it takes the % off the already reduced % price again. Effectively, 50% fish price is actually 25% of what you would get if you had the setting on 100%.

Just for the sake of it I set the % to 1.5 and was getting around $45 / lb for tuna in the port despite the fish price tab saying $30

Yeah. The normal standard setting is way too easy. I need to get it to 50% and actually have the fish price reflect what it actually sells for in the ports.

.71 (71%) will net you 50.41% in the docks. closest you will get.

be forewarned, at 71%, some of the lower selling fish, like mackerel, will only turn a profit if you net or trawl them. even silver hake is hard to turn a profit long lining at this setting.

Hi, so what percentage of difficulty should we set it to make the game seem a little more realistic?
