How to catch Mackerel

I have been trying to catch some Mackerel using nets on Ocean Runner & Moby D but I don't seem to be able to catch them. What am I missing I though I could get them with nets? Looking at it I haven't caught any using any method yet but I have found them on the sonar etc and dropped my nets at the right time.

Do not use nets until the devs put out a patch to fix them, something about the AI breaking them.

Only way to catch them in FBS was trawling with the Lunar Bow. Don't know if its the same in this game but I havent caught any by other fishing methods

you're correct, same with lunar bow here.

Should be caught with nets because that's how it is fished in Canada trawling is not big fishery

when mackerel hitting the fjords in norway , u have one mothership and a small boat that netting the scool with fish, mothership hauling it in. would be a cool gameplay :)
