Nets Vs. Deepline
Deepline has been very profitable for me- and so has net fishing. I have the Ocean Runner, and I seem to be making a good profit with nets. I'm not sure if i should switch to deepline or not because net fishing takes double the time, but depending on where you are I think it can be a little more profitable... What should I do?

Get another boat and set it up for deeplines, then you can see which you enjoy playing more.

How exactly is netting more profitable? I was running 700k+ from running my deeplines ONE time in the Ocean Runner. That was until I started bumping against my swordfish quota, now I am running nets and not making anywhere near as much money.

@lukethiboduax Okay, i'll just keep doing deepline until I can get the fun stuff with yk crab and stuff, btw i'm pretty sure crab takes a while, but its very much profitable, that is once you've finished loading your boat.

(edit: i've been deeplining for 30 minutes now and well i got 200k, vs the 450k usual for nets, well i'll see if it gets better later and thats with 20 deeplines)

Look in the guides section for deeplines. That maxed out my income:-)

You are doing it wrong if you are only hitting 200k, I just hit 1.2 million from a single run of my lines in the ocean runner. Running 40 lines in swordfish infested waters at $35 a kg :)

Might not have anything to do with "doing it wrong". Could simply be that the prices for swordfish and tuna have been driven down in his game.
Another thing I noticed while testing things doing multiple restarts: You dont always start the game with good swordfish/tuna prices, sometimes they are all average and below average.
It simply might be time to either skip a week or 2 or move on to fishing for something else for a bit.

That is what I do, if nobody is paying 20+ for tuna or swords I fish for something else or skip a few days.
