Trawling types?
Does anyone know the difference in the trawling types? I noticed the Hermes and the Lunar bow have two seperate trawling types, are you going to need to trawl in a different manner or is it just the different types of fish collected and that's all?

Lunar Bow is higher level trawling I think its up to 150 meters I forget the exact details, plus the fish caught are kept in a tank so no gutting etc, the hold is enormous and it takes a lot of time to fill but it is worth a huge amount if you do so.

Hermes is a trawl doors over 150 meters I remember mainly being around 250 when I did it (on the last game). The fish type is the same as line fishing which is good and bad (the bad is it supresses the price on those fish or vice versa if you line or net fish. The good is you have to cut and stack them!).

Mechanically i.e the trawl game play is the same. Although they have added line tension for the dexter and that may have affected the game play for the big two trawlers.

Good call, for now I will just keep the symmetry good just below the minimum catch depth.

I did some cable snapping testing and seems that your actual cable tension has nothing to do with snapping, only thing that matters is how much fish you have in trawl.
I used Lunar Bow for testing and i was able to run cable tension over 240 tons without them snapping. I had round 170 tons of fish in trawl and i was hauling with full power forward with everything ok.
When i actually snapped cables it showed only 218 tons of tension while i was just trawling on to see at what number they snap.

Only advice i have for it is to go into really deep water when weather is very nice, set your trawl while making sure that both are equal lenght and then start little by little trying to get back to equal depth.
After fidgeting for a while (took me round 20 mins to get it back) you know to NEVER touch those buttons again as your door position doesn't reset when you take trawl out.

I've started to have success with the Deckster steering towards shoals by using the autopilot and changing the bearing roughly by eye on the map, then leaving the autopilot to aim for it.

Is there any difference in game between pelagic trawling and bottom trawling? Just bought the Deckster for trying but I am trawling same as others...and far away from bottom. Something wrong I what I do or bottom trawling is not modeled?
