Another Performance Issue

AMD 3900X, RTX 2080 Super, 32 GB RAM and I get performance hits to FPS. My system should not be getting taxed at all, yet I get performance drops. Crew assignment screen really drops it down. Didn't notice FPS drops with the Mikki, but I bought the Ocean Runner and now I can't seem to hold a solid 60 FPS no matter my graphics settings. I have set CPU priority to high. I can't seem to add this to nVidia control panel, though. Any suggestions, or is this game just poorly optimized?

Game seems fine, a few friends with not as beefy systems run it fine with max settings as well as my powerhouse and I'm only seeing 16-17% cpu usage. Maybe check drivers and any background programs running?

I also get pretty high cpu usage on my system while frames are below 60 on a 2070 with a 9700k

Thinking it is just mediocre optimization. I also play thehunter cotw on max setting with no fps drops. DCS, which is horrific in resource usage, also runs very well on my system. I will concede that my settings aren't maxed in DCS, but it does look and run well. All drivers are updated for nVidia and asus mobo (which is a f*cking nightmare to update). FNA just doesn't run at 60 FPS, but it rarely goes below 40. Oh well, this game really doesn't need high frames anyways.

If you upgrade your radar, this seems to tank FPS too, I dropped mine down to basic and FPS went back to 60+

Nice I will give that a shot.

I have terrible fps on some ships too, changing graphics settings have no effect

I think the downgraded radar is helping, and I don't know if its just the boat I'm on, but flickering shadows with interior lights on went away too

i bought the game and refunded it for the exact same reason, my specs all are at the recomended yet it ran my pc very hot

Well, can confirm that the top of the line radar is what is causing the issue. The other radars don't seem to be doing it so far, but I guess I will further test this

Also, the crew placement screen where you task crew on the boat seems to lag FPS a bit.

I have perfomance problems with Vibeke. Switched back to Snarset..everything fine:-)
