not sure what it does and my catch remains the same with or with out seagulls.
always thought hear seagulls must be close to land lol
Think I heard them once in 20 hours of gameplay.
I suspect there's one of the video settings that make them not be there like they're supposed to.
What I do is:
Watch where the other boats are going because they're usually sitting on 2 or 3 schools.
Put a waypoint down and click the compass button to start quick travel's time dilation.
Then you grab that waypoint and start leading your boat around until you hear gulls.
Close the map to stop the quick travel when i'm near and then poke around on the sonar.
It's a bit annoying that we can't see the seagulls because as far as I can tell, it's the whole reason for having binoculars at all. I mean, It's not like we're able to unlock fast travel points or boats by looking at them through the binos.
Does this have anything to do with Freesync? I know it has some transparency shader bugs in other games.
Edit: Umm...the seagulls are obviously disappearing intermittently. I've just found a flock I can see
