Doesn't start on Windows 8

After starting the game, the music starts, screen resulution changes, but the desktop freezes and nothing else is visible.

Same problem here... not sure what the solution is yet

I tried compatability settings, as administrator, etc.. nothing worked.

While the intro video is playing I can actually see the video flash into what looks like a 640x480 corner in the top left briefly if I at-tab back and forth betwen it and other apps. I suppose we just need a patch or something.

Don't have the Steam version though it is a digital distribution version. You can try adding "-windowed" without the quotes to the startup or possibly a desktop shortcut. I was able to get it to run in this way.. Won't be fullscreen but you'll be able to play.

All you have to do is run this little app, use the tray icon's Add Window option, set the game to run in your native resoltuon in windowed mode (i'm using 1920x1080 for instance), then hit F3 while it's the active window.

Wallah, fullscreen windowed!

or you could just go into the ini and change the screen resolution that way. Much easier and don't have to mess with extra apps.

just create a shortcut and add -windowed to the target and then it plays great

Going into the config file and changing resolution didn't work. I have to use that util to run fullscreen windowed.

my post from 11/10 should work. Make sure to add -windowed to the shortcut and set the resolution to the native resolution of your monitor.

I tried but I don't know how change the game resolution and when I add -windowed to the cible that give me an error message

Same issue, i'm also on windows 8.

After launching it in windowed mod you can hit alt+enter, it will put the game in fullscreen
