Malwarebytes and found trojan.
I scanned my hardrive today and for some reason malwarebytes is labeling drakensang.exe as a trojan. This never happened before as I scan quite frequently. Is this safe to ignore? What a weird positive!

You're not alone -- the latest definitions from Malwarebytes are saying its a trojan.

I'm curious too, I doubt they'd release a trojan with the game files so likely just matches some pattern it's looking for. Really odd though -- definitely unsettling.

Mine is saying it's drakensang/launch.exe though not drakensang.exe.

To be certain I also deleted the file, had Steam fix the install, and rescanned and it found the same issue with the file it replaced it with so it's definitely the correct file.

Thank you for your responce. I made a mistake, it is the drakensang/launch.exe like you said.

I found a site where you can upload a file and it runs it against 52 differenet anti viruses and anti malware. Out of the 52, Mawarebytes and 1 other (Bkav) foudnd the launcher to be a trojan. The other 50 say it's safe. I'm guessing it's just a malwarebytes issue. I belive the file is safe.

The website I used is this: https://www.virustotal.com/

So it's the issue with Malwarebytes, then. As I understand it, Malwarebytes is targeted at day 0 threats, so it must rely on its heuristic module more heavily than other AVs. Guess there's some new suspicious pattern that happened to look like one in Drakensang executables (which is somewhat funny given that DS has been released some years ago and hadn't been patched recently).

Not an issue because Bitdefender, n°1 from market, detect each download Drakensang.exe as Trojan too. I can't play some games in steam because that.
