Technical Problems

Hi good Sir or Ma'am,

I love this game so I wanna continue in finishing this game with a new character. And now, the tricky or say technical problems on my side right now.... Whenever I press "Load Game" and all of sudden it created a problem with the red flash of alert on its text message. It won't let me do anything but terminate its gameplay. In other words, I am stuck and unable to continue in my quest. I have taken two screenshots because that is all it says right before it terminated.

I've uninstalled once and reinstalled. Still, I got that same error message. So, please look into this and resolve it as soon as possible.

Well, since I could figure out to post my screen shots. I will repeat what it says here in this text.

After this error message, it says

"Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Proggram F...

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

I had that problem briefly too. I'm on Win 8.1 and if I remember right my fix was pretty simple, I just had to change the properties to 'Run as Admin' and it fixed it for me.

I tried searching for nebula area's on this forum and couldn't find any so I went to the one for Phil's Secret and found this post:

You might also try going to the other 2 Drakensang forums, Drakensang River of Time and Drakensang Phillensen's Secret and searching on those forums. Use both the search words 'nebula error' and 'Win 10'.

I know there's a bunch of stuff you have to type in properties to get it to work on win 10 at times.

In your OP you said you wanted to play through with a New Character, if that's so you should be clicking on New Game to start over, not Load Game which would just call up your save files.

Big thanks!! It worked!!

All I do ever was to delete profile and put saved data in a different profile. Then, delete all of its saved content. After that, I went to open Drakensang and it was basically a brand new game for a new character. After deleting, I put the data back into its folder and now it works!!! Loaded the game without any trouble this time!

Something for down the road. The longer you play the greater the chance is of the 'Save Game File' corrupting. Generally it seems to hit towards the end of Chapter 7 prior to going to Murdosh.

What happens is the file extension xxx DOT FILE EXTENSION (like .exe) changes to something totally weird and you can't open it anymore leaving you the only options of starting over.

Work around; either every once in awhile save the good file to a thumb drive or keep 3 or 4 older saves in the game to make sure atleast one is still good.

And always; save, save some more and then save again.
