Most of the NFS games are pretty good. I really liked Shift 2 in particular, you can try finding a CD key or maybe a game disc for a console (if you have one). Rivals is great, I have yet to play through 2015 and Payback, but Heat and Hot Pursuit (2010/Remaster) are also really good.

Keep The racing Pack in mind. EA sells those Games in a NFS Pack "racing Pack" or Something Like that.

I really enjoyed Payback, but I used a trainer to fix the random spin nonsense. Yeah it might be kinda-thematic to the whole casino city setup, but as a gameplay thing it clearly was designed to be loot-box-y. So yeah.

However, if you basically stop that nonsense in its tracks, it's a surprisingly fun world to drive around, and I actually really enjoyed the story missions. It's a lot of fun. There's really only one thing I wish it had, and that's varying weather.

Heat is kind of a successor to Payback, but what'll really screw you over is the police have preternatural abilities to follow you. Unless you watch some guides, they're like a dog with a bone, you can never shake them with driving skills alone. It really makes the game a bit non-fun, nor did I care as much about the characters in the story missions. Overall, I didn't enjoy Heat as much as I did Payback, but you could kinda see they were trying. Maybe if they'd had a chance to do a third game, they'd have been able to refine what they were going for.

Payback for me so far was the most fun to play, despite the upgrade mechanics, i highly recommend it. Getting this trainer to fix the upgrades sounds like a good idea too.

The Crew 2

dont play
NFS payback
NFS undercover (played ps2 and pc version and the pc version is bad for me)
15 is garbage, don't even bother playing, other than that, the rest is fine

Completely unrelated, but I couldn't get 15 to run properly since the game kept holding the handbrake for some reason.

Also, I played Undercover a while back when I was younger, and I enjoyed it despite it being a really bad game.

If you're really interested, I believe there are still Steam keys available for it on sites like G2A and Kinguin

I played NFS: Shift on PC and got a good amount of enjoyment out of it. It's the only Need for Speed game I've played.
