Crashes a few minutes in with DirectX error on Proton Experimental

Whenever I try to play NFS Rivals, i'm able to get past the Cop/Racer select screen, and I'm also able to get into the Hideout/Command Post menu, but when I enter the actual game, a few seconds later it locks up with a DirectX error saying "Function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_RESET." My only option is to select "OK." I've tried everything I could think of, switching Proton versions, using DXVK, changing resolutions, nothing. I can only assume this has something to do with my GPU? I have an Intel HD 620. Thanks.
