Is this game like Hot Pursuit?

Loved HP very much so if its development of HP ideas Im totally buying this game.

HP remastered is more arcade style, and not open world. This has an open world system and instead of getting 4 abilities, you only get 2 that you need to upgrade for either side. You get points for busting/racing/HP/interceptor etc. that you use to buy new cars (racers buy, cops get new cars for free). Overall I like both games but they are different. Only game i dont recommend is NFS Heat; its nothing like these 2 games

I feel like Rivals most definitely expands on the ideas behind Hot Pursuit's police chases. The pursuit techs are a lot more nuanced and varied. I'm willing to say this game rivals Most Wanted '05 pursuits in terms of enjoyment.

Though Rivals as a whole has a fair share of issues that you may or may not need to resolve yourself, it's a must-have if you love cop chases in racing games. I think it's most fun if you set up a 3v3 with your friends and do some kind of challenge

Also, you might be interested in checking out some entries on nfsmods[nfsmods.xyz] ("Rivals+" in particular) if you want to bring out some more enjoyment out of the pursuits and the game in general.
