Have they fixed that 6 year old bug?
From the year this game was brought out for PC (Origin), there has been bug in which the road ahead suddenly stops loading and the player gets stuck forever. At that point, the only thing you can do is to terminate the game process in the Task Manager.

This game is great, but this one thing ruins it. If people who got it on Steam do not complain about this, or even if they do, if someone in the community finds a fix or a workaround, or even Steam (Valve) pushes EA to fix this (as they should have 6 years ago), I would gladly buy the same game again.

I think starting from the 32 bit exe fixes that, it fixes the flickering distant texture pop in that sometimes occurs with the 64 bit version, but yeah they should fix it.

No, It does not. Not in the Origin version at least. I have tried that already. It had given me hope though.... for a few minutes.

Hopefully they will fix it then now it's on steam if people start experiencing the issue, I have the Origin version and have never had that issue but I remember it happening on nfs undercover.

Just had this happen to me once I made the game run in 60 fps mode.

It has happened to me a couple of times, not enough to really ruin anything.

It is too random to know for sure. Sometimes it happens as soon as you leave the garage. Really annoying.

I actually did some "testing" and when i played for a while AFTER moving my game from HDD to SSD, i didn't get that bug at all. Might have been good luck, might have been actually something worth to take a look into. Anyway, that worked for me (atleast for the time being)

That was luck indeed. I play this game from an SSD for almost 5 years now. It always happens at some point.

The devs didn't seem to care at the time, but Steam community has always been stronger in terms of critics and feedback. EA has been getting away for far too long with this kind of thing.

It's a weird and annoying issue for sure, one of my friend who's been playing the game aswell hasn't had this bug, we have somewhat similar specs and overall i don't see a reason why i have the issue and he doesnt.

It is not. It happens even when you are playing offline. I have been playing it since 2014. I have tested it in many scenarios, in at least 8 different PCs, AMD, Intel, SSD, HD, Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10, x86, x64... but I am not a programmer. I have absolutely no idea of what causes it. I just hope that now, on Steam, people with knowledge can find a way to fix this somehow.
never had that issue in rivals, just in nfs 2016 on pc.
i assume it's a 50/50 chance to get it, or the game just doesn't like some hardware.

for me this is the most BS need for speed games that is ever existed..... Rivals was a failure for me.
Krull Jun 8, 2020 @ 10:12pm
I fortunately never experienced this is over 50 hours of gameplay on Origin. I wonder why only some experience this.
Exotic Jun 9, 2020 @ 2:00am
Right so i've been playing for well over 5 hours now after i moved the game to my SSD and i haven't gotten the bug not even once, some people here said they've been playing on an SSD for several years and still encountering the issue, so it's not 100% reliable obviously. But for me it seems to work, that or i'll have to start writing down lottery numbers based on my hell of a good luck.

Anyway, it's worth a shot.
