I had no problem with this using a Steam Controller, the only game I had problems with the controller, which I managed to fix was Need for Speed 2015. Heat is by far the best.

Steam's xinput wrapper doesn't work for this game, and I suspect it's due to Origin being the middleman to launch this game. If you have a gamepad that doesn't support xinput, like DualShock 4 or Switch Pro Controller, I strongly recommend to use a different xinput wrapper that supports them. I personally use X360 Controller Emulator, as I only need it for this particular game.

If you're going to use X360CE like I do, make sure to go to Game Settings tab and check COM, DI and PIDVID boxes in the HOOK section, as well as make sure xinput v9.1 is chosen.

I have purchased NFS Rivals. May I ask you a question? After launching the game I am taken to Origin where I have to enter a code in order to activate the game through Origin.
Where can I find this code?

Well it didnt ask me about a code it just asked me to login, but in the old steam interface u could see the activation key in properties if im not mistaken

Yeah. I haven't played it much, but it worked out of the box for me. I like that controller.
