Possible Fix for Need for Speed Most Wanted Not Launching
This worked for me, but your mileage may vary.
My PC has 2 graphics processors, one integrated into the CPU, and one dedicated GPU. Need for Speed Most Wanted only looks for one GPU, because it is a port of a console game. The first GPU seen by the computer is the integrated one, so that is what the game picks as the graphics to use, but the computer detects that it is a game and tries to launch it on the dedicated GPU, but the game does not recognize it. There are two solutions to this, and I will go over how to have both of them work (in Windows 10). The first one is to just have Need for Speed launch on your dedicated graphics, or to disable your dedicated graphics temporarily for while you are playing the game.

Integrated Graphics
This solution does result in worse performance. The way I did it was to right click on the desktop and pick display settings, then scroll all the way down to graphics settings. In graphics settings, I clicked browse and then found the Need for Speed application in my steam library. Once it was added, I clicked on it, clicked options, and set it to whatever the integrated GPU is called, for me it was power saving mode.

Dedicated Graphics
This one gives better performance, and the only cost is the monitors plugged directly into your motherboard. if you have none of those, you can just leave the integrated disabled. Open the start menu and search for device manager. from there find the display adapters in the list and click on it. Right click on your integrated graphics and then select disable this device. Then restart your computer and the game should only see one GPU and start on the dedicated, allowing for much better performance. Should you need to re-enable the dedicated GPU, simply follow these steps but instead of disable this device, it should say enable this device.

I will say, this fixed it for me. I just purchased, and ran into the problem of it just not launching, simply looping between origin and steam to no avail. I have three monitors, two of which are on my i-gpu, and thought, why not. Gave it a try, and behold it works. Although I didn't have to restart my PC at any point, and can disable, launch the game, and reenable i-gpu once the game has launched, and it all works fine.

So goofy that a game requires this much tinkering to get work, but the things we do for love...

Cheers mate.

Thank you so much. I love you guys. I was heartbroken and this is my first PC and I don’t even know how these things work.

There is also another issue: NFS MW 2012 don't run in win 11.
In this case you can use the reshade drivers, this will replace the directx drivers and fix this issue.

My NFS MW wasn't launching as well, and installing Reshade Drivers worked perfectly for me, thank you bro.

Yes, disabled one of my two graphics cards in Device Manager and now the game launches! Thank you!

Need for speed was running smoothly and now I can't get it to work EA says it's connected to the wrong account and disabled the game.

Yes, the same for me. All games purchased from EA are listed as Removed. With unknown reason. They are still in the library on Steam. But when I open them. It says wrong profile. Even though I only have one profile.

Search for reshade, the website is reshade.me and download the installer.
Run it and select NFSMW (NFS13.exe) from the list (there is a search bar at the bottom)
Klick Next and select Direct X 10/11/12.
On the next page it worked fine for me going with the default selection.
Click finish and you're now ready to launch the game from your steam library.

At least it worked for me this way. (Running Win11 on a PC with AMD CPU without iGPU and a Nvidia GPU)
