Force the use of specific Steam Play compatibility tool < GE-Proton7 - 37
Steps:
1) Close Steam
2) Install EA App (if you don't have it)
3) Login in EA App and go to Config -> App & turn off overlay.
4) Download Origin from here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Origin-Client-Web-Technical/Downloading-and-installing-Origin-Windows-and-Mac/m-p/11915666/thread-id/134033
5) Install it and login, then go to Config -> Origin in game & turn off overlay.
6) Start the game from Origin, this will automatically start the game from Steam, will not be able to open the EA App and since you don't need the overlay will use Origin instead.
7) Play all old EA games that interest you before Origin die..
I was able to play (or at least get to the menu) in BF1, MEC and NFS2015 (NFS Heat works with the new launcher).
I'm going to post this on the three forums since it took me all night to get them running and I couldn't play anything because it was so late..
If it works share it.
Shouldn't be necessary though, what a fumble, especially during this 99 cent EA Play promotion. Not making it look so hot lol
And I did a clean installation recently
you legend, thuis works, love you xx haha
