NFS does not recognize the controller

The game does not recognize the controller, when pressing buttons these do not change to those of the controller such as A, X, B, Y, etc ... and it is not possible to play it ... has anyone had that problem and managed to solve it?

I have tried with a generic controller and with the Steam controller and both have this problem, I have already solved in the past a problem that it recognizes the controller as a driving wheel, but now the controller does not recognize me anymore ... help me

I read somewhere that you have to disconnect your keyboard, if you're on a pc, and reconnect it again in order to get the controller working. Absolute trash of a solution but so far it has worked for me.

so I use Ds4 windows controller with a ps4 controller. I have playstation, xbox, and generic controller support selected under steam controller settings. I also sometimes have to leave the steam contoller settings menu open for the controller to be found. and my ds4 program is set to stay hidden. since I upgraded my cpu to a 5600x I dont have any problems though. hope this helps
