Missing Railroad Switch
I went through the small town zone and defeated the Big Boss lady in the far corner of town. I went back and placed the Railroad Lever into the Railway Switch. Everything was fine so far. I continued backward down to the Railroad Station and was not expecting the Station to be repopulated with zombies AND train fuel.

Maxed out my fuel in the train (HootyHoo!!!), but when I started forward again to the Railroad Switch. Lo and Behold, the switch is now gone and it is nowhere in my inventory.

So, can I NOT leave the Lever in the Railroad Switch? Do you HAVE TO head down the second railroad track once you get the Lever or the lever disappears and you have to reacquire the lever?

What can you do to keep the lever from disappearing?

This has been a great game, I have a lot of fun with it.

when you change location (as in when you see a loading screen) it entirely resets the location, so when you left and went back to the city it was as if it was the first time you were there. not much to do about it, you do get a railroad switch after doing a new game+ at the end of final location so you can skip it next time

The lever is gone and the tracks are set to go back to the Railway Hub. Can I still get the lever by killing the boss in the town again?

Every time you visit a new location, everything is updated, so you can get everything that is in the location, a weapon, a robot, a lever from the boss.

Yeah, i had to kill the boss twice to get that lever again bcoz i also went back to gas station to look for leather n stuff. Dev should have made that part persistent as it relates to the track. Killing the boss again lost all my ammo and set my progress back another day. sad
