Sorry, didn't quite understand the problem you are facing?

It still works, just make sure to push and hold L shift Before clicking and moving items.

EDIT: just jumped into game to doudle check, yip still works.

I click and drag while pressing left shift but I don't get an option to split amount.

Well I've tried everything I could. Can't get it to work. Even tried a different keyboard

Bugger, i did find it is quite finicky, Not telling you how to just how i do it :-)
Have both inventory slots open, push and keep L-shift held down, click and hold LMB on item, with LMB held drag item to inventory slot, release LMB then L-shift, you should get that little quantity to split screen,
PLEASE NOTE, i dont think Splitting items work from Inventory(backpack) to storeage(locker/box/etc). only works from storage to backpack that i have found.

OK. It now works. The problem is with the remapping of the SPRINT button in game. It is
Left Shift to sprint.

Remapping of this in Controls will cause the split function to fail.
Setting everything back to default highlighted this.

Sweet, thats good to know, also if you have a gun in hand when you click green tick to split items it tends to let off 1 shot, also if using number keys to input split quantity it also tends to equip last number pushed (if 1 - 6). Hope that makes sence :-)
