Zompiercer Roadmap.
Welcome to the Zompiercer Roadmap!
This roadmap is not exhaustive, only important and interesting ideas are included in the list.

At this stage, I am developing the game alone, so I suggest you to discuss existing ideas and propose your own, this will help me better navigate the development priorities.

Ongoing
I try to update every month or two, but sometimes I have to implement technologically complex mechanics and such updates can take much longer. New locations are implemented very rarely at the moment, as I need to build up a technological base and a large amount of content to implement the locations that I have in mind.

Characters
  • Redesign of all game characters to match the level of graphics in the game.
  • 3-4 times increase in the number of zombies with unique mutations.
  • Partial character customization. Necessity and detail will be discussed with the community.
  • Zombie bosses of key locations, including the final boss.
  • Refining the robot dog, expanding the tools for the robot, such as automatic turrets, etc.
  • NPC quest companion and train crew.
  • Settlements with NPCs, giving quests and merchants.

Battles
  • Empowering zombies with such unique mutations as the ability to shoot poisons, fire, slowing or blinding shells. Affecting the psyche of a player, healing or reviving fallen brothers.

Crafting
  • More furniture and workbenches for the train.
  • More weapons, armor and improvements to them.
  • New weapons such as bows, crossbows, Molotov cocktails, bait bombs and mines.
  • Defensive structures and turrets to protect the train from attack.
  • Extended farming with the need to prepare the soil for planting and care for plants during the growing process. Plants need access to sunlight and fertilizers.

Mechanics
  • Creating a complex character leveling system.
  • The introduction of the PuppetMaster system in zombies.
  • Quests for heavy cargo transportation.
  • Quests for rescuing or transporting NPCs that may become part of your crew.
  • Attack of zombies on your train right during movement.

General
  • Localisation to other languages.

Possibilities
  • Random procedural world for infinite gameplay.
  • Co-op multiplayer.
  • VR support.

If I look on the Cartoon and the Realistic Style then I would say a Realistic Look An Artist would take a bigger Price, because it is more complex.
Some Creatures look more like Aliens or Demons then Zombies like Creature 3 and 5.
But the Game is not about Zombies, its a Base Building Game and with the Train it has more posibilitys as Games like The long Drive.

There are many Artists who draw Cartoon Style (like Artists in the Furry and MLP Fandom) and the Prices are cheap too, beginning from $40 up to $200 for an Image of an Char with Background.
In the realistic Area are many Artist who made it easy by using Textures to create Skins for Models, what are faster and more easy to do.
Professional Artists who draw everything themself like the famous Jeremy Bernal take for an simple Character Artwork without Background a Price starting with $700.

An Game is always a Piece of Art too, so it is the Choice of the Artist (you) how the Work looks like.
It can be more Realistic like Left for Dead 1+2 where you still can see the Zombies are Humans, it can be more Cartoon like Plants vs Zombies or like yours more Fantasy, where the Zombies are not cartoonish and not realistic, but somehow between.
I guess People like the cute Look more, because after all the very realistic Zombie Games over the year it is nice to see a more, I call it Nintendo Look.
Practical every Dev made their Zombies in a realistic Style, in the last Games: Walking Dead, Dead Rising, Dying Light, Dead Island, Resident Evil, Days Gone.
But if you try to list the more cartoonish Looks its difficult.
Theres the Plants vs Zombies Series, minecraft and a huge Ammount of Mobile and Free to Play Games.
I have look for examples but that was the only I found in my short search.

Of course your Game is still in some sort of semi Realistic with Cartoon Elements from the Zombies,. not a full cartoonish Style like World of Warcraft or Borderlands.
For me the Zombies are not realy important, because my Interest is mostly in the Creativity on the Train.
Thats why I have already suggest to allow the Train to get longer, so you can practical build some sort of moving Town on Rails, with or without NPC on it.

I not realy need NPC, because they are never realy Usefull, except for Quests, as Trader or Trainer but instead you could add an Communication Station, where you can talk to NPC to get Quests, Trader and Trainer could be in the Towns and Locations you visit (like in the Dead Island Series).
NPC on the Train could be difficult, if you just have a Cart Basis, where the NPC should go?
they could be in the Way if you try to build or rebuild a Cart, so maybe the Idea to talk with them over Communications are better.
You could even buy Stuff and its Delivered in a Way as Mail was taken by Trains on the run with an hanging Bag catched by a Grabber.

I need exactly artists working in 3d, otherwise I won't be able to implement them in a 3d game. As for the prices, the new zombies were already created by a young student who had practically just completed his studies, it is unlikely that I could get the service cheaper, otherwise the quality of the zombies would be terrible.

I understand why the players like the old zombies like me, because I put my soul into them, but unfortunately the circumstances turned out differently.

Later lengthening is planned and even some work has already been done on it, so it will appear in one form or another over time.

The main idea when introducing NPCs is the ability to create a base of survivors, which is very lacking in this world, and it will also allow the player to receive tasks, visit a hidden place and complete quests, which should diversify the game. NPC helpers are more like an addition if I can technically implement it at all.

Zombies are real.
For Humans its part of the Voodoo Cult, where People are able to set others in some Sort of Trance, so the Individual Parts are turned off.
They then Act more like Puppets.
There are some Illnesses who are maybe an Basis for the Developement of modern Zombies in Movies and Games, like Rabies.

There will be no new locations in the next updates, now I'm focused on increasing the content so that new locations can be made more interesting and unique.

Кооперативный пока не продвигается, этой задачей я буду заниматься ближе к выходу из раннего доступа, сейчас идет активная работа над редизайном и новыми зомби.
