Precise answer: After the diagonal elevator, you go on the corridor at it's left, once inside the room you go up, there should be a door to open. Once in the second room there should be a button to press to open the way and that's it
That is so odd. I must have missed something big and it would have lead me to the other locked doors or something. Either that or the map was bugged somehow. I have had issue with items not spawning and then showing up later, maybe I missed something that way. Oh well, thanks.
About the map info, if I'm not wrong it can also display missing stuff from heigher floors you don't have access anymore
And yes if my memory isn't wrong, all yellow doors can be opened
"No Entry" doors can't be unlocked (like in Silent Hill games). Doors with a yellow padlock icon or something else can.
If you missed anything essential you wouldn't be able to progress. There aren't many optional puzzles or key items you can ignore. If you missed something it's probably optional stuff like, for example, getting the Revolver.
If you've made it to the mines, I think you've collected all key items you need. The only things you'd be missing are consumables or memos/journal entries.
Interesting, I do tend to save a lot, partially why I was really confused that I missed some locked rooms and their keys. I'm extremely thorough usually lol. That explains the items though! Some of these puzzles are pretty trial and error. It's possible I already had the "clue" and thought I needed to find the "clue" and come back later, only to hit a new point of no return.
2 All "yellow" (on map) locked doors can be opened during playthrough
3 not sure about respawn of stock items (ammo, medkits), the second and so far last run I did I think I haven't died once beside final bossfight and I have noticed item respawn once (probably as a part of game progression) or maybe twice (not sure if I discovered new area in second chapter or if it was respawn). I don't remember them respawning besides these areas in my first run, but I don't remember that one well. So it could be a mechanic, I just haven't noticed it.
To be sure, have one save on start of area and other for progression.
