Last horror game i bought from AAA is Callisto and it's a massive disappointment for $70
When I encountered Beo in the mine, I thought "it would be so cool if there was an alternate timeline where she gets up and tries to return to the surface". I'm imagining she would have insanely high health, but would be unable to use healing items due to her unique construction.
I would love to see more variety from the devs
Games like Call of Duty and Especially Assassin's Creed are not cheap. They are mass produced because these companies have massive teams working on them. Even with all the re-used assets the amount of content they put out in the timeframe they do is absurd. Garbage sure, but cheap the sure as hell ain't.
And even then When I looked up lists of 2020-2022 aaa games most of them are hardly part of those mass produced yearly/bi-yearly titles. Most are unique experiences. I know people like to root for smaller guys which is great, but I don't get where the hate for AAA titles comes from when majority of them in fact are not your average call of duties like people like to pretend when they want to seem more cultured for liking indies.
All nonsense of course, there are plenty of great AAA games coming out all the time like GoW Ragnarok recently. You just play the bad ones.
