What do you enjoy about this?
I like how the game looks, but that's about it.
Gameplay is frustrating, and there is no plot to speak of.
Is there something I'm missing?

Too lazy to read all the other replies, so sorry if i repeat the points. For one, the plot is there. It's surreal and fragmented, but that's the point, you are allowed to think for yourself and draw your own conclusions and theories, it doesn't spoon-feed you answers like people these days are kind of used to, I feel. It's a story about eldritch horrors beyond human comprehension, so plot being hard to understand on first playthrough is expected. Secondly... yeah, the combat is clunky intentionally. From an in-universe standpoint, your character was not made for combat and can do bare minimum for self-defense, while from meta perspective, it's to encourage you to only take fights you are confident in, as well as making ambushes more tense. That's what survival horror is all about - solving puzzles and managing resources while facing an overwhelming threat. It's called "survival" for that exact reason - cuz you are just barely surviving.

I just wrote a reply to your other post, but I have to say it's very disappointing that you're making posts like this. You haven't even finished the first chapter of a surreal game, so you should know it's arrogant to complain about "no plot," right?

Obviously quite a lot of people did enjoy this game. Maybe it's just not for you, and that doesn't mean you can make objective disses of the game. Please find something better to do if the game is not your cup of tea.

It's a Survival Horror game. So, for the same reason people who love fighting games can enjoy Street Fighter or Tekken, fans who love and understand the foundations of the Survival Horror sub-genre have a lot in this game to enjoy. If you were one of them, you wouldn't need to ask a question like this.

Well, people who currently enjoy the genre have started somewhere.
They didn't know that they will in advance. So there's probably something that caught their attention, and I want to understand what it is.
Furthermore, this something is probably not in the end of the game - because they had to be entertained enough by previous stages in order to get there.
I've never played games in this genre, so how was I supposed to know if this game is "for me" or not?

There is no plot? Are you sure you are playing this game?

You're not supposed to know, if it's your first there's no choice but to try and see how far you can get. But if you want to know and understand where Signalis comes from, this gives a pretty good general explanation about the gameplay style, mechanics, and design philosophy people want and enjoy in this kind of games:

they enjoy lazy game design. like when a dev can't create tension, so he gives you ♥♥♥♥ controls and call it a horror mechanic, so you end up being frustrated, not scared

I didn't get anything from the main story
my whole run was "what?"
but the music and the design is top quality.

That's by design, this is just a bad, woke, overhyped "game" but people with no taste will find it appealing

It's perfectly understandable to dislike the genre. Not the game for you and move on. If you're into old school survival horror, Lovecraftian horror, and media which asks you to do more than follow the structure of a three act play then this is very, very good at what it does. But, again, it is totally normal for the audience who enjoys those things to absolutely love Signalis but for it to leave other people cold. This is hardly a game selling in the tens of millions, after all.

I played for a while but ultimately stopped. I played the original Resident Evil and Clock Tower series on Playstation so I know where the roots of the game are. Some of the features I really like, the red on the map is a great help. What I couldn't stand was enemies respawning at random. This is what turned me off from RE:Village. The tone of the game went from "Good work dropping that thing with 2 bullets and a kick, now you can explore and read things and find things to progress." to "**** you don't come back."
So I didn't go back.

Hmm, I haven't played as many old survival horror games, but as a newer player I found the enemy respawn system quite passable. Even on the highest difficulty, it wasn't an issue to dispose of the necessary enemies and move by them swiftly. The game presents the thermite flares as an additional tool to eliminate your biggest threats for good.
The game already wants you to dodge or sneak past the enemies most of the time anyway, so when you have that skill, it's not such a big issue if a few of them re-awaken.

not at all, the game gives u plenty ammo for killing almost all enemies, in my first run I killed like 130 replicas

Yes, that's possible as well. I just mean the game does *want* you to be able to avoid enemies as a viable strategy, especially with the reduced ammo on survival difficulty. I wouldn't say "not at all"
