I don't know why, it's not that it has much in common, but for some reason the feeling I got while playing reminded me about a really old point-and-click adventure game called "Beneath a Steel Sky."
The game isn't nearly as dark and there's no combat and the dystopian future isn't nearly as bleak, but still that's the only game I can draw parallel to. The sad reality is that Signalis is unique and like 2bad2sad said in other words: nothing can replace it. :Coalition:

I could see Prey (2017) appealing to people who like Signalis for the dark alternate history sci-fi setting, and psychological/existential themes. It's definitely more of a stretch than, say, Silent Hill, but I don't think you ever specified how far removed these games can be from Signalis to count.

I posted this one in the other thread already, but it bears repeating:

It's a little difficult to discern what you're actually looking for because Signalis is first and foremost intended as a continuation of the style of Resident Evil and Silent Hill from 20+ years ago, but somewhere in the thread you said you don't really like that kind of game.

If it's anything to do with the story, I would strongly recommend Nier: Automata above anything else.

sci-fi setting, psychological thriller, character stuck in the cycle of his own, story with the twist in the end

+ The Citadel game, Silent hill 4 (gog), Silent Hill Homecoming (steam), The Chant and
Remothered Broken Porcelain (and tormented fathers)
and if dare to suggest CRYOSTASIS sleep of reason

Also, don't forget about really dark and depressing trilogy of amazing games like: The Cat Lady, Downfall and Lorelai (the first one is really dark and wicked ), and maybe Franbow with American McGee Alice (Alice madness returns)

Cat Lady is really good, though I feel as point and clicks go, Last Door is much more similar to Signalis.

and maybe The Path (one of the greatest indie titles ever, one of the first indie games that came out in general)
Possibly You Will (Not) Remain??? It's a free narrative focused game on steam, the things I feel like I could only draw parallels to are the really well executed cosmic/lovecraftian horror elements and story. It's only around half an hour long I think anyways, so it wouldn't hurt for anyone to try it.

Someone may have already submitted it but I recommend Transistor, that game has the same vibe but not so heavy on the horror.

Lost in Vivo, maybe? Not about space lesbians, but has the same vibe.
Oxenfree I and II are both super underrated titles. They don't share the same gameplay style as signalis, but both of them are indie supernatural/horror titles with compelling characters and make heavy use of both radio signals, deep themes, and the concept of loops.
I'd definitely also recommend Nier Automata for robot gals, cycles, and deep, abliet much different, themes.
