German or English?
I know there are some German words in this game and I was wondering if it would be better to play in German so it would feel more consistent or to play in English so that the German words stick out more?

I think developers mentioned either here or on their socials that the game was intended to be played in english. Besides, there's also a few other languages in the mix, like japanese (or chinese? Not sure).

The pinned FAQ thread here in the forums says that the English and German scripts were written in parallel and are equally valid choices as far as the devs are concerned.

I've played through the game twice, trying both language settings. And despite being a native German speaker, I actually prefer the English version. That's because I feel when you play Signalis in German, the emphasis shifts too strongly in favour of that language and the game loses some of its multilingual appeal. Just to illustrate, let's say the English script is about 60 % English, 30 % German and 10 % Chinese. In the German version, that shifts to something like 80 % German, 10% English and 10 % Chinese (these numbers are just to illustrate the point, not an actual count).

Also, if you don't know any German, I strongly suggest you play in English as you do need to understand some of the basic information the text conveys, just to know where you're supposed to go and what the items you're picking up actually are.

Thank you, that was exactly the info I was looking for.

I am also a native German speaker by the way, so don't worry I wasn't planing to play a psychological horror game in a language I didn't understand, I'm not mad...yet.
