Stun Baton?

How the hell do you use these things? I've clicked literally every button on my controller while they're equipped to the tool belt. I've even waited until enemies were right on top of me and still nothing happens.

LB/L1 when you are next to a bad guy with them equipped should do the trick. You can also get a quick list of controls by pausing.

By default, push C. It's in the file you get when you pick up the first one.

Right, the control list says LB. But even when it's the only item equipped, it doesn't do anything. When the gun is also equipped, it just raises the gun into fire mode.

So basically, the stun baton is equipped, I press LB (or any other button) when near an enemy, but my character does nothing.

Are you playing on console, or off steam but with a gamepad? If you're on PC (be it via gamepass or some other way), try using it with keyboard controls (C)

I just beat the game and never used the baton because I couldn't find out how to use it. No matter how, where, and when I pressed 'C', it didn't go off.

Stupid question, but one that needs to be asked to clarify, did you just put it in your inventory and try to use it? Or did you ACTUALLY equip it so it was taking up your tool slot under your characters picture on the inventory screen?

sounds to me like you changed the games controls. aiming the gun is on LT on default.
so you could press LT and see if you just swapped them.

it also has to be equipped like a gun. only putting it into your inventory is not enough.
