its mostly dead and there are only a handful of people playing. most lobbies you get are filled with a handful of people and the rest are bots. all level 1 "players" in lobbies are usually bots.

its a bit sad as i love this game even though its horribly balanced. it could have been so much more. hope the devs will get it right next time with an extensive pvz game with much more pve/coop content, a much better multiplayer balance and hopefully cross platform play as this is the only way to keep a game like this alive

there will be a complete edition releazed soon to press the last bit of money out of this game what means that the game could have nice player numbers until this game will die for sure because its just not worth trying to keep this "game" alive. escept if EA continues brining proper updates what is pretty unlikely. it can be a fun but whiout players this game feels so boring and empty i think.
edit: last time i checked the playernumbers ingame the game where dead whit only a few players being in a lobby and that was not a long time ago

Ye it seems the games is finally dead u can no longer find any matches at all there is no one in the lobbies except u now u can't even start a match anymore and it sucks

Steam discussion wise, it's less popular than PvZ GW2. overall, the population of players online is relatively low/tame, not to the point where it is dead (unless you try to do specific game modes: battle arena is a *no* typically player-wise)

Have you played TF2 today? That game is awfully unbalanced. Why? Community weapons. Imagine if people actually played the game the way it was intended by the devs. Today kids just wanna do whatever they want and play how ever they want to play. In the end this is a terrible bad idea because it makes the game not fun and it gets people like you to think it's horribly balanced.

People just want to kill and get a lot of points like it means something. And it doesn't.

I recommend you to skip this. Events are decent but nobody plays them especially arena, and the only multiplayer game mode more "populated" (to no say the 3 or 4 people who use to play this continuously) is way unbalanced and maps suck.

I recommend you especially GW1 than 2 because has less hackers than 2 and is more balanced. But GW2 is OK too.
