Way to throw away/sell trash items?

is there a way to despawn/ throw away items so it doesnt clutter the world? i tried throwing rotted food down the starewell or looking for a trashcan on zamazon etc havent found a solution yet other than buying pills and eating all the food.

Can't you sell everything to the dealer in your town? Interact with him

I was at the apartment at this point, turns out there is a basement trash room where things despawn if you leave it there in the complex. you also get a storage room in the basement to keep extra items which is nice.
