how to defeat the boss? wth is crush waves?

You have to hind behind the pillars (I think they glow red?). What I did is a split the group into 2 groups and had them out in the open but close enough to the pillars that when the gigabrain aims at someone I can quickly hide them behind those pillars. Then the gigabrain fired and hurts itself by destroying them.
