Playable while holding a guitar controller?

I was wondering if it would be easier to play while using a GH/RB guitar controller? Or would that prevent good hand/finger tracking?

Using a physical controller is supported by the "Device" playstyle mode selection menu. We are actually ignoring vr controller tracking in that mode, but we are really opened/curious about experimenting more solutions, so I think we'll introduce more options during the early access phase.

I've been lucky enough to beta test this for some time. I tried both the finger tracking and real rockband guitar and I found it much easier with the guitar because I logged in so many hours into rockband and guitar hero years ago. The finger tracking works well enough and you could probably get used to it in time. I just didn't have the patience to get good at a new method. But if you have an old guitar laying around I think the obvious choice would be to play with a guitar.

i am unable to get my PS4 rockband Guitar to work with the game my pc reads it though.

We found steam input can conflict with native inputs, you probably need to disable steam input from Rocking Hero's application options, by going into controller settings in Big Picture mode.

Keep me updated, there is a tester who uses a PS4 rockband bluetooth guitar to play so I think you shouldn't have any issues.

I bought the Guitar Hero Live Bundle for PS3 on Ebay for € 30, can I use the guitar with it?

with the Windows Mixed Reality controllers it worked quite well :)

With that guitar the frets layout could be a little weird with our game since they have an upper row with 3 frets and a lower one with other 3, other than that it may work, even if PS3 controllers are untested actually. You should probably install some third party's drivers in order to pair it in windows first. Make me know if you manage to make it work with the game!

Okay, thanks for the info, I really hope that it works, I saw a video today where someone played a rock band with this guitar, it worked, it's practically the same principle (I hope)

The PS3 Guitar Hero Live Guitar Controller works with Rocking Hero, you need Driver.
