Demonic Alliance working as intended?

I am not sure if this works. The tooltip says "The first time in combat an Ally kills an enemy, they gain +25 damage".
But it seems to work only on my Hero unit, which is the one with the tag. Other units have killed stuff but don't get the power-up. What is happening?

it should work for other allies too. I'm gonna take a look at it. If I find any bugs, the fix will be up later today.
