How many players can play locally on the same pc?

How many players 2-4-6-8? controllers on the same screen?

4 is the max in splitscreen.
You can add 4 AI bots too, for a total of 8 "players" on couch co-op.

And howi can start a splitscreen-match? The only option is to invite friends, but i cant find an option to add local players

Custom Game -> Create Game -> Pick Mode -> Pick Maps -> start pressing buttons on 2nd/3rd/4th controller.
Player 1 is automatically Keyboard & Mouse so you'll have to add the 4 controller players then remove the K&M player. This gives you 4 couch players with controllers.

I've done this many times. You can add bots to make it 8 players, but unfortunately you can't play 4 couch + 4 random other players UNLESS people join your server. It will show up in the server list and you can still invite other remote players manually.

I have no clue what would happen if you were playing 4-couch and someone invited you to their Custom Lobby. It'd be fun to test and see if all 4 of you join the game invited to.
