RIDE 4

Ten ton bikes
So I've been thinking about the physics changes, just what did milestone do to create the horrible physics we currently have. Ever noticed that when you crest a rise, say at Nurburgring, the bike nosedive instead of wheelies?
Well, I think Milestone added weight to the front of the bike, and judging by the amount of nosedive they added a LOT of weight. It explains the insane amount of grip the front end has.
So yeah, we ride 10 ton bikes!

maybe weight distruibition?
I feel the rear a bit more loose

It's possible, but some bikes nosedive really badly, like all of their weight is on the front end. So I thought if that's the case then the rear end would have zero grip.
Anyway, I'm thinking about this because maybe there's a file that can be edited. It's something I'm looking into, but no joy yet.

i feel the brakes changed a lot. before you could get into endos much easier, and go over the bars. I think the front brake has been make weaker and the rear brake has been increased. I only brake now when in a straight line, I lose time trying to trail-brake. just grab a full handfull of front brake and rear approaching a corner. before the physics change you had to brake earlier and balance the point where the rear would lift, but you could trail brake into the corner as the rear was a bit more stable. that may be because your speed was lower to start with.

personally i think motogp20 is much more realistic now. before the physics nerf patch, i thought ride4 was possibly the best or at least on par. i enjoy motogp much more plus the track textures look a lot nicer and more detailed. but both games have different takes on careers, so i enjoy both, but hands down physics is way more realistic in motogp.

the bike have much less character now, I could tell the difference in riding characteristics in the bikes before, but now its like they are all the same bike, just with different power engines.

the weight idea you have is very interesting, i will take a look at the Nur and test the jumps.

Yeah I see what you mean, It does in deed feel light the front is incredibly heavy. To the point where the back will wobble comically ant the front is planted, and the bikes act really strangely when they catch air.

I watched the milestone videos showing the game development, really complicated coloured rods sticking out symbolizing physics. They threw that away.
Gone is any sense of planning, now it's desperately clumsy hacking away at the game to try and prolong the con.
It's a disaster.
I actually feel sorry for them, they failed so badly.

maybe if they could add a handlebar mounted shopping basket with a sack of potatoes in, it would be realistic. I see what you mean on nords, it does nosedive over the crest jumps, whereas before if you was still on the gas the front would lift realistically. it was hair raising before but now looks weird.

Exactly. See how much fun they took out of the game. I really enjoyed that you needed skill to get the most out of a bike.
Some of the corners were downright scary! The downhill left handed corner at kyalami would have been fantastic.
I'm so annoyed they ruined the game.

Man, I'm so disappointed with this change! I haven't had the time to play the game for a couple of weeks which I really really enjoyed before. Now I went in to my next race and I'm slow like hell even on lowered AI strength and the front of the bike is pushing like a pig. Why the f@ck did they have to ruin what was a fantastic game before??

It seems those changes have been reverted luckily.
The AI crashes a lot again, but I'm enjoying riding the bike again. So I'm happy.
