Surely the next update should be here soon.
Always use it once established out of pretty much every corner, but need to be aware it reduces your braking/cornering ability so release it then.
So as far as I can tell, auto tuck does NOT work on any bikes...at all.
It badly affects cornering though, so don't just spam it.
Having thought about it I like it as things are right now. Skill should be rewarded, manual should give an advantage. Auto gears, auto brakes and auto tuck in? If there was no penalty in terms of outright speed then there is no point to the entire concept of 'racing' (just in case people cry foul because they are slower through using auto).
So, git gud
Tested this with a Hayabusa on Philip Island.
Auto tuck in on - 183mph at end of straight
Auto off / Manual tuck in used (LB pressed and held from apex of final bend) - 183mph
Auto off / Manual tuck in not used - 156mph
When not pressing manual tuck in, you can really feel the bike and rider dragging above 140mph or so. The tuck in animation does not work - in all scenarios above the rider was visibly tucked in.
But you can play how you wish. Ignore us.
Set difficulty to 100% for proper AI speed on straights - currently this setting greatly effects AI top speed.
And yep the manual tuck also nicely increases your acceleration so use it out of every corner, but not too early as it drops grip to the rear quite a bit.
Playing on 120%. The AI need a buff or something, turn their aggression into competitive would be great.
Magny and Sugo are excruciating to race at. The AI are terrible, almost as if they've never been there. They seem to have a real problem with hard braking.
I'm having to handicap myself.
It's a real shame because generally speaking the AI are very good. I can't think of a game with better AI. But there's still enough of a challenge to keep my interest alive.
Hot lapping has turned out to be great fun! Im attempting to get in the top 5 using pre 2000 bikes. 1980s preferably. The RC45 is fantastic! Quite possibly op, but if you assume your bike has the post sale 'race' upgrade it should be phenomenally quick. I know that any that went on track did have the upgrade.
Theres actually a video of a stock bike being road tested, and although the guy was awed by the opportunity he didn't think it was quick.
So there's my challenge, pre 2000 bikes, top 5!
