RIDE 4
What the hell is wrong with you people?
So many bad reviews because the game is too hard? Some of the reviews were written just after few hours of playing...

Start time trials, ask other players how to use brakes and learn the game instead of showing your frustration to the world. 🤦🏻‍♂️ FFS...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated?

Nice smooth lines, keep your momentum up as the Harley doesn't have great accel so it takes a long time to build your speed back up.

Here's my gold run, realistic ABS on, EB1 everything else off and default setup. I strongly recommend players look for setup fixes if they're struggling for bronze as there's alot more time to be gained simply by improving their riding and I think it creates bad habits to think 'my setup is wrong' instead of 'my riding is wrong'

Have you considered that you're just not that fast of a rider? It's a license test, thats all it is, its not to teach you anything. I consistently easily get 1-2 second lap times below the gold times

Did you consider that I am fast enough for the test?
Have you considered that you are maybe only just passing it, while other people get 2 seconds off easily? You're saying the game structure is wrong (objective comment) because the time trial times are set too low (objective comment) because youre barely passing them. If you want to get better I don't mind helping but most of the time when people go outright decrying that the game is outright incorrect, it usually means you think youre already good enough ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I agree with a great bike game, really love the realism, but I am really struggling with the getting my career going at all. Got my first two done in Americas, but the third on Laguna Seca with the Harley is really making my life hard, and I am not sure what I might be doing wrong. Adjusted suspension (the little that can be done), made the gearing shorter. Even tried using all the assists on, but best I could do is 0.255 short of bronze. Any advice would be greatly appreciated?
Turn off all assists please that will help and you should be able to pass it with just front brakes. If you would like i can hop on discord with you and observe and let you know where you can improve

Because the game structure is up to the developers. If they designed it to have licenses thats their creative vision, ....
If your creative vision leads to new or less skilled players banging their heads against a wall before the career even starts, getting frustrated, thus refunding the game and/or leaving negative reviews ... it`s probably a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ vision.
It`s probably written on page one of gamedesign 101.

It`s usually a better idea to reward players than punishing them, unless you want to make a Dark Souls clone.
In our case, give them a free bike for passing all licenses of a group on gold, but don`t exclude them by making bronze too hard.

Well, the fix couldn`t be more easy, just add a ton of time to bronze. Any skilled hardcore player has no reason to care, since for them it`s about silver and gold anyway. No harm in making it accessible for players of a different skill level.

However, it remains rather poor design imo, since I don`t see the fun in it.
For me, I went through most tests with ease. Now Imatra gate challenge was up for the Superbike license. I hate that track, I avoid it whereever I can, because it`s no fun to me.
Why does the game 100% force me into it? With a challenge I beat by rewinding like a madman?

I agree with many comments : the game is very good and it s very beautiful , well optimized but time trials are too too difficult :( and it s very frustrating :/
I love to have some challenge but honestly I can't pass the last timetrials on Mugello (European licence) ; my best time : 2.08.100 (and we must do 2.07.600 just on bronze !!!).

I've got a video up for this license as well, Mugello is all about flow and well timed change of direction but you can pick up a decent amount of time but just divebombing turn 1 on the brakes as well.

As ever try to avoid abrupt movements and you can also use your R6 to practice full laps in time trial outside of career which will help you get more full lap practice without fear of reset.

they do reward you, you get a bike for passing the tests... But go on about how a design similar to one of the longest running racing franchises is stupid, and they should be stoned and hung for it
Saying people are giving this game bad reviews "because it's too hard" is seriously over-simplifying why people are so dissatisfied with this game atm.

Many of the reviews are making a comparison to previous versions of Ride and MotoGP. With those earlier games, game play and overall mechanics are refined at this point. Ride 4 is destined to be great imo and I look forward to when the fix some of the glaring issues. I'm still holding out hope for this game because I do love it, just not in it's current state.
Game launched with too many bugs. There's pieces of track that will launch a bike 100 feet in the air...on important tracks in important places. Pretty lame.

You keep drawing the wrong conclusions because you suffer from tunnel vision. Your way or wrong way.

I have never claimed to be fast, period, I am only showing that I am fast enough, that I don’t need hoops to learn to play this game, that the current design is punishing players instead of teaching them. The license system breaks your flow, it does not expand it.

Just because GT features a similar system does not mean it is an inspired design, if anything it is far from inspired, nor that I as a consumer of this product should shut up about it.

Now go ♥♥♥♥ yourself because I am done with you.

You are on about GT?
Well, that`s design from the 90s, and it was not particularly good back then either.
Plus, as far as I can remember, the two are only similar in name.
GT had short tests that tried to teach you braking points and similar stuff.
And they were easy enough noone ever had much trouble with it.

I really don`t know why you feel like defending a mechanic that actively pushes new players away, and doesn`t add much for "veterans". And can easily be fixed.

Imo it`s generally not a good idea to force players into doing things they don`t enjoy, unless you have good reason to do so ... which I fail to see here.

This is an unofficial GT for bikes if you like. Tests take only 10% of the game at most. And piss easy to pass. Also sick of reading reviews saying "physics are a downgrade" pile of ♥♥♥♥♥.
Clean up you act!
The thing I find quite amusing is Milestone have a massive list of proposed DLC....won't be spending another cent on this game in it's current raging dumpster fire state.

I would just be happy if the AI didn't perform amazing trail braking to the apex every turn, and when you run exactly the same line you cook your front tire and can't stop or turn, if you survive the kamikaze dive bomb that is. Also you can run exactly the same line on the same bike & tires and the AI just drive away from you, and I really feel for inexperienced racers when they see the ridiculously fast speed of the AI at the lowest 20% difficulty setting on the bigger bikes! TBH the list of total fails in this game is just waaay to long to even bother...
its a great game and you can apply real world riding techniques to a great lenght for being a game.

its not set out to be a sim lets remember that, it still has to be entertaining, and it really is =)
