I started in America. Took me many many tries to pass the license tests. Probably about 2 hours total.
Then I enter the first actual series and gold all 3 events first try. (Ok, I restarted the lap halfway through in the time trial...)
This is on realistic in first person view.
I like a challenge, but a game can be hard and still fun to play. RIDE 4 just gets frustrating (specifically time trials) and make me turn off the game. I’m not sure why there is no rewind feature in time trials like in Ride 3 or why it automatically forces you to restart the race from the start when you hit a piece of sand. I would personally prefer if a penalty was added and I could just continue the track to learn. Even with the rewind feature I think it would still be difficult to earn gold on some of the tracks. The normal races are a bit more enjoyable.
I also feel there is less customization in comparison to Ride 3. What happened to spicing up your ride and making it truly yours by adding different handlebars, mirrors, brake lines, etc.?
The graphics are great! However, I prefer game play over graphics. Pretty hard to see detail when flying down the track at 150+ and focusing on your next turn.
There seem to be no tutorials! You basically need to find out everything yourself! I didn’t even know you could change traction control, etc. on the dash while racing until hours into the game. I could see newer players whom haven’t played the previous games a bit lost.
I don’t have GT...
Why?

Gold time running hoops is 01.01.500
Running time attack with the same bike - full sim, helmet view, no aids and minimal electronics (EB=1) - I can run pretty consistant 01.01.xxx - 01.00.xxx times
...so what does running the hoops teach me other than rewinds and restarts?
Not even flexible racing lines!
You say the game is not for me because I criticize dumb game design that does not teach, but punish the player.
Did you consider that I am fast enough for the test?
Really... you don't understand? Well if you don't know by now then you never will. There's a whole forum of information giving reasons so perhaps you need to do that reading thing and actually take it in.
Oh by the way the assists are bloody garbage as many have already said and have been saying forfor days. Now you know how to find out.
I agree with a great bike game, really love the realism, but I am really struggling with the getting my career going at all. Got my first two done in Americas, but the third on Laguna Seca with the Harley is really making my life hard, and I am not sure what I might be doing wrong. Adjusted suspension (the little that can be done), made the gearing shorter. Even tried using all the assists on, but best I could do is 0.255 short of bronze. Any advice would be greatly appreciated?
I love to have some challenge but honestly I can't pass the last timetrials on Mugello (European licence) ; my best time : 2.08.100 (and we must do 2.07.600 just on bronze !!!).
