certain quests

would like to know what quests i should do in order to pick up companions. i havent found any information besides do several quests. currently i can make buildings, carts, etc just need more resources, amulets, basic gear but so far cannot pick up companions. i think i can get the donkey just need resources.i have blanket quest but need more resources. i do the 5 things needed for first guy but cannot find him anywhere he was at a bridge. thanks i do have the dog ovie lol

if you haven't got Corrin yet - he will still be at that bridge south of Kortombe, just go to the bridge (and maybe click on it)

i actually found quite a few companions by accident was just curious everyone was suggesting get finn asap i did pick up corrin. i do have decent cart donkey. picked up quinn when i could buy the bed got recipe but was gonna take longer. so far i am level 11 corrin is 8 and just got finn he starts as 3. i think ovie is 5th level. is there any other companions i should watch out for. found a war horse by accident going to 2nd town to get bed.
also any advice on weapons so far battle axe (8)with 12 damage for myself and finn. mace i think i have at 2 have one of those at 12 too. thanks

Almost all companions are useful - when in your domain, they add to your crafting skill bonus.
You should focus on companions that have gold frames (like Ovie and Finn) as they get quests to increase their max level (eventually) to 50. Follow the main quest, and it will lead you to them.

thanks i recruited quite a few. looks like there is only a few with gold frames. just noticed some companions have to be in the group to have bonuses like the female fire arcanist or stone mercenary guy and sally. i wonder if this applies to all companions that cannot fight.

When you are in your domain, the bonuses from all companions count (so that will apply to crafting and building). When away from the domain, only the bonuses from those in your party apply.
