Unofficial Submarine Titans patch (May 2022 update)
The intention of this modification/patch is to improve the playability and interaction of the game with modern systems. It will not alter the artistic expression or the fundamentals of the game, with the exception to achieve what is stated above.

The latest version contains the following changes:
  • Support for any resolution in-game (tested up to 3840x2160)
  • OpenGL and Software rendering replacement for DirectDraw to improve compatibility and performance
  • DirectInput replacement
  • Improved scrolling
  • Added mission skip cheat (Retail/GOG v1.1; workaround for progression bugs)
  • Fixes various internal errors
  • Fixes alt-tab crashes
  • Support for display scaling
  • Windows 7 palette color fix
It's recommended to only apply this patch if you're experiencing issues with playing Submarine Titans. Other operating systems than Windows 10 (x64) aren't actively tested with this patch, and might not work at all.
Usage of this patch is at your own risk.

Wow. Superb job. Runs well with the GOG version :-)

I installed the 1.1 patch and this unofficial patch but it didn't fix the color issue on windows 7 64-bit, but I pasted in the ddraw.dll from the GOG version and that seems to have fixed it.

Edit: the ddraw.dll from dgvoodoo also works for me
http://dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2/dgVoodoo2.html (download and extract ddraw.dll from the x86 folder)

You don't need this patch.

The GOG version works perfectly.

Many people don't have the GOG version they have the Steam version. This mod needs to be updated hopefully soon for Steam users

I don't care. I'm just posting that the GOG version works.

People already know that the GOG version works. This is Steam, not GOG.
So? I'm telling them they don't need some fanboy third person patch. Go buy the GOG version and save yourself the headache.

Works great! Thank you. I'm playing in 3840x2160p which is my native resolution. Is there a way to smooth out the mouse cursor movement?

Edit:

After playing for a bit, sadly i had to remove this patch/mod./ The frame-rate is just too low for an enjoyable experience. When i try changing it back, i get a fatal error/CTD. So I've removed it for now. You are on the right track though, Jelly! Keep it up.
Thanks for the feedback, I'll look into it. The blitting method used to render is quite taxing, especially on higher resolutions. It's most likely be the cause of the slowdown. A temporary workaround would be lowering your resolution to 1920x1080.

I think that's already somewhat known to people. I've made this modification to be able to run it on my own machine, but decided to share it with people that actually do want to tinker with the game.

I dislike your attitude, if you don't want to use it that's fine with me. Constructive feedback is always welcome, but calling someone a fanboy because of sharing something is somewhat offensive.

There is a warning note said 'Conflicting key found'.
The note is
The WINXPSP3 compatibility flag is known to cause conflicts with this game.
Do you want to remove the key?

What's this mean? How can I solve it?

The warning is caused by Steam setting the XP compatibility flag for the game. Clicking Yes once should stop the warning from appearing next launch. If it keeps appearing then please do notify me.
