Unofficial Submarine Titans patch (May 2022 update)
The intention of this modification/patch is to improve the playability and interaction of the game with modern systems. It will not alter the artistic expression or the fundamentals of the game, with the exception to achieve what is stated above.

The latest version contains the following changes:
  • Support for any resolution in-game (tested up to 3840x2160)
  • OpenGL and Software rendering replacement for DirectDraw to improve compatibility and performance
  • DirectInput replacement
  • Improved scrolling
  • Added mission skip cheat (Retail/GOG v1.1; workaround for progression bugs)
  • Fixes various internal errors
  • Fixes alt-tab crashes
  • Support for display scaling
  • Windows 7 palette color fix
It's recommended to only apply this patch if you're experiencing issues with playing Submarine Titans. Other operating systems than Windows 10 (x64) aren't actively tested with this patch, and might not work at all.
Usage of this patch is at your own risk.

I was able to get the game working using some files from GoG, how is your fix different? Do you mind sharing a screenshoot of what it looks like? Thanks a bunch!

Thank you for notifying me.
The FPS can get worse if you're using the native resolution (1280x1024 replacement) option, as it'll make the game more intensive for the CPU. Have you tried lowering it to 1024x768?

As for the color issue, could you try to apply the following fix in the registry? https://stackoverflow.com/a/3391614
I'd love to know if that works, if it works then I'll consider adding it in for Windows 7.
Hay i noticed it lags unplayable untill sum mission TXT is drawin onscreen then the game runs fast after that! here is a mission i played with the patch you can see lag bad first few secs on vid

Thanks for your feedback, I'll look into it. Are you running your game at a faster speed than normal? The timer seems to count at a normal speed for the first few seconds before accelerating.

Edit: I can confirm that the game is lagging when changing the speed to high, which seems to be caused by the custom FPS limiter. I'll start working on a fix.

For Windows 7 users:
If the normal patch doesn't solve the color issue then please let me know. The test version i'm providing in this post applies a fix in the registry, however I haven't been able to test it on Windows 7. Please let me know if it does/doesn't fix the issue.

For people experiencing lag in-game:
It seems that the FPS limiter is causing slowdowns when using the high speed gameplay setting. The test version has the custom FPS limiter disabled.

Test version: *removed*

Aww yes i all ways play it on Fast it does not run fast at all in battle games only runs at normal speed and in missions it runs slow untill mission TXT is showin down bottom right then game speeds up to fast.

The hole thing runs fine on normal speed thow i hade a few games last night. the game works well at hi rez i like it.

i am a Subtitans fan so i will def play more if you keep developing it thanks.

i made the Subtitans reddit if you are interested https://www.reddit.com/r/SubmarineTitans/
I tryed test version it does not work at all on FAST game speed when i try battles/ load saved games/mission all run normal speed only.

But the SubTitans-2020-05-19_17-12-16.zip version runs 60fps fast smooth only in missions a few secs after mission TXT is showin
When i load a game or play battles of mission with no start TXT thay all lag but run fine at normal speed.

Small update has been released today which should reduce some issues that people have been encountering. If you aren't experiencing any issues with your current version then I'd advice you not to update.

The dll does not work for the GOG verison, it just causes the Application Error 0x0000142 ; tried everything to fix it, nothing works... would be nice to get a working version for GOG as well, in the future ^^

Playing on Windows 7, 64-bit, other than having to run at 800x600 resolution to avoid FPS problems, your patch works perfectly for me

Game (before using patch) was otherwise unplayable, couldn't even get to the menu without this patch
