Low Level Hero Teams

So I've been playing a few weeks and finally got to level 32 unlocking the sorcerer the ranger and the wanderer and I have to say I'm a little underwhelmed. I've only gotten them up to T3 items so far but for the investment I've made in them I was expecting a little more.

The only FAQ I can find says rangers are supposed to be strong at this stage but doesn't have enough survivability compared to the previous tier's knight, and while its damage is better than other members of its class it doesn't seem worth the drop off in HP and armor

All rogue (green) heroes have felt kind of weak to me from the start. As long as you have some kind of fighter class in the group they rarely get targeted by the enemy and I rarely see their bonus evasion seeming to count for anything. Their damage is also less than impressive, and hit or miss based on critical hits. My monk is a pretty decent damage dealer but other heroes in the class including the wanderer feel a lot weaker

I expected the sorcerer to be a damage boon, but it doesn't look like he's going to be able to touch my mage\s attack rating as they are already comparably geared unless he rolled a giant damage boosting skill at level 10.

I'm ready to make a significant investment in heroes but I don't want to needlessly flush the gold I've already invested in some of my existing heroes over a costly investment into new ones. Balanced parties seem to be recommended generally but I'm not seeing any reason at the moment I shouldn't just run teams of a knight to tank with 2 mages to dish out damage until I hit 42 and get into the next tier of heroes.

Right now I have 8 heroes, a ranger, knight. barbarian. monk. wanderer, druid, mage, sorcerer

With Argon I could lose a tank and hire a damage dealer and have 3 teams with 1 tank and 2 damage dealers but I have no idea who to retire or which heroes to hire at this point, any advice?

Ranger spam is effective, honestly. Just loads of rangers. Faster farming with their passive and their base stats aren't bad.

Sorcs are probably the best from that tier though, but it's RNG for their skills and you also need to invest in the gear/elements to level up the skills too.

That said, it's up to you how much to invest in them. All heroes will be replaced once you get the last 6 unlocked, then it's a matter of buying new ones and firing them if they get bad skills to rinse and repeat for good builds. If you're finding yourself hurting for materials though, ranger spam is fine.
