I don't see the post on steam so I do it here.
What do you think about the FAQ?
EDIT: There is a post in the forum now, but not in the steam page. Feel free to enrich the discussion here since the Rose's post is more about asking more questions.
If you think that telling people would negatively affect sales, then maybe you've cut too much from the main game and even more people will start to think that you (Paradox the publisher) are nickle and diming them for content that really should have come with the base game.
While questions are appreciated, comments are just as welcome, so I merged your post with the pinned one :)
I make a summary for the forum. So, about the CS-like UI style that makes the game bland and too bright for the theme of the game, the EXP based research system, the fog of war, the lack of collisions between the characters, the hot water supply, the water physics, rooms (dormitories, workshops, libraries, mail rooms and shops), the dirtiness management and (possibly) the needs management that gives too much informations about the prisoners without giving any effort from the player.
I have no doubt their will be more vidéos about some points. But I anticipate, especially for the research mechanic I really dislike (with the little I know).
If they literally tell you that this isn't their model and you still believe it's their model, one of two things could be true: Either they're lying to us all, or this is very much what they call a "you problem". (I mean that not as a slight, but as to say that your own perception is twisting your thoughts.)
From where I'm sitting, on its face, either possibility is about as likely as the other. However, we have evidence that they don't hide DLC plans.
This post,[forum.paradoxplaza.com] written four months before the release of Crusader Kings 3, made very clear that the company was planning post-launch content and what manner and price model they would follow.
CK3 is the company's flagship title. Self-developed, hugely marketed, and very costly to produce. If they're willing to be forthcoming about DLC for such a title, they have no reason to not be forthcoming about it for this title. Moreover, CK3 has been a huge financial and critical success, so it's not as though revealing their hand ruined their profits.
IMO, this tips the matter slightly in favor of your perception biasing you against Paradox, leading you to assume they're lying.
I'm bummed by that as well, but I'm hopeful the connections mechanic will serve as a replacement until proper gang mechanics are worked out. A group of inmates who are friends will hopefully function similarly to a gang, at least in the short term.
Except some assumptions I need to make here:
1) I REALLY hope Windoof doesn't stay a requirement (just to launch the paradox launcher!),
otherwise I surely have to instant refund my preorder when I cant start the game
2) DLCs? I hope those contain some decoration stuff and not features (once again..)
3) How big is the "Map" - Wait only one (city) map?
4) So inmates can dig, but we as a Warden cannot dig?
But to not spoil to much of the base game itself, I stopped watching more before it releases.
While I actually hope those who preorder could get early-access (Yes, I noticed / remembered too late that PA is now owned by PI)
At least with early-access maybe some could start modding pre-launch?
Hey there! As someone that's played PA1 since 2015 and watched vids before that from creators - I quite agree with you :)
1) I don't know about launcher but I can certainly ask. I know for PA1 there was a way to launch without the launcher, we had people use it when troubleshooting.
2) We're currently focused on the release of PA2, but we have heard all of the feedback on how players prefer core features to be in a free update with all of the extra fun cosmetics and possibly immersion details only being in paid content.
3) There are a number of maps. The one in the cell gif is only one of them. The brick prison in the announcement post is on an entirely different one. And we've shown others in various other images or videos over the past few weeks.
4) This question has been noted. There may even be a post for it on our Suggestions Forum https://pdxint.at/PA2Suggestions I'd be surprised if there wasn't.
Mm, I’d be very happy with this indeed.
I understand if they won't be available at launch, as they weren't in PA1, but I do think that its important to know if they will be available at all, or if they will be added on later for an extra charge
2. All female prison as a DLC or as a free update alongside DLC?
