I'm a little confused about Core Charge
So I'm able to build Core Charge during battle by using skills, but none of it stays after battle so I can't use something like healing items outside of battle. Is it possible to recharge the CC with other items? I know they changed it from the first game so I'm a bit confused.

After a battle, any unused CC will be added to a core bottle that lets you use healing items (via Basket>Consumable Items) on the field.

Unlock Modify Core Crystal ASAP after you complete the Maiden's Catacombs. After you do, you'll be able to start battles with CC. Things become a bit more fun after that.
