Now that I think about it, the AI pathfinding is one of the major issues related to this. No matter what, they want to take a straight path. No matter if there's a referee, podium, whatever, in the way. Add a ref that's slow to get into position sometimes, and a lot of moves and animations that take some time to finish, AND a targeting system with seemingly a mind of it's own....it can get frustrating.
But isn't that how those kinds of matches truly are?
But yes it's been a problem with the WWE games forever. I specifically remember the nightmare that was Money in the Bank in career mode in 2k19. Think it took me like 15 tries back then with all the objectives and somehow winning, because of the problems you mentioned.
I'd recommend the tried and true heel method: Let A hit a finisher on B, throw A out. If it's 4 man, I try to wait until someone is stunned outside, or go for the actual pin\submission when everyone else is starting a grapple animation
Well it's not gonna be that easy cuz it's Tornado Tag Triple Threat, that's a lot of ring clearing to be done. And usually they or rather he (Gargano) manages to end the match, before I even reach enough goals to get the required 90 points, that you need to actually "finish" the match, because winning is not enough.
Edit: Okay maybe it was tabbing out and venting my frustration or the pee break I took afterwards, but after tabbing back in I finished it through sheer coincidence as I managed to lay out two guys with finishers and everyone else was fighting outside and apparently forgot I existed. But still "fun" looks different.
You vs. Otis vs. Tucker vs. Titus vs. Jinder vs. Elias vs. Roode vs. Apollo
in a single fall 8 man match. Good luck not having the AI score a random pinfall or you hitting the right moment to finish the match yourself.
Seriously man these devs must have been on something, when they cooked that up.
