"Please first activate the original game" When using Activation Code?

So I bought the Standard Version of the game on their site last month. This morning, I received an email with my activation code for steam. When I use the code on Steam it gives me the "Please first activate the original game. The product code you entered requires ownership of another product." error. Any thoughts on this? Btw I only got 1 activation code.

Same thing here. After talking to some people, it sounds like it might have been a code for the pre-order content (undertaker, etc). I imagine I'll get another code before it releases on steam.

Which is another question, steam has it releasing in 14 hours, but it releases in the US ET in a little over an hour on consoles. So when is it? Steam getting a later release time?

Yeah I think the code that was sent to us is for the DLC (taker stuffs). Hopefully they'd send us another code for the actual game. Doesn't make sense though why they'd send the DLC code earlier than the actual game, kinda confusing us to mistakenly think that was for the actual game and that something might be wrong.

For the releasing time you mentioned, yeah it's kinda strange. On steam it has like 14 hours like you said, but when I check on their site, it says 1 hour left till release or something. Dude idk.

Yeah, looks like we're getting it later. Fingers crossed it's just a mistake and we'll get it at midnight, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Yeah, I've been anticipating this game for like months. Having this activation code situation is very anticlimactic.

Steam usually releases games when the store updates, which happens a 2-3 times a day. Those of us who pre-ordered the Deluxe and NWO version got our game later than consoles as well. Console Players were playing pretty much all day on the 7th but it wasn't until Midnight on the 8th that Steam got it, no pre-load either.

Got an email an hour and a half ago from xsolla customer service saying they "will contact the game and update you on the status". I'm still waiting on an update and working product key for my preorder.

Nothing changed in my situation. Already contacted 2K yesterday, provided them details and everything they asked, got an email today saying to "again" just go xsolla's support and etc. This is just pure bad

i ordered from gamestop and they said since ive never asked for a refund before theyre gonna do it. lets hope it goes through tomorrow and i can buy from steam like a smart guy
